FAQ

What is total landed cost?

The complete cost of importing a product: purchase price + freight + insurance + all duties/tariffs + MPF + HMF + brokerage. It's your true per-unit cost and determines your real margin.

Why is landed cost important for sourcing?

A product cheaper FOB from China can be more expensive landed than from Mexico once you add Section 301 (25%) + Section 232 (50% for steel) + Section 122 (10%). Landed cost reveals your true cost.

How does the calculator handle tariff stacking?

Automatically identifies all applicable tariff layers for any HTS code and country, stacks them, adds MPF/HMF/brokerage, and computes total landed cost. Handles specific rates, compound rates, and ad valorem rates.
